How you can help
- Always put litter in the bin and clean up litter you encounter. If every Australian picked up just one piece of rubbish, more than 20 million pieces of litter would be removed from our environment (Clean Up Australia Ltd, 2009).
- Always put cigarette butts in the bin.
- Always dispose of paint and household chemicals correctly- Your local council website will have information about correctly disposing of waste, including paint and household chemicals.
- Support your local catchment group- click through to your area on the map and find the name of your local catchment group at the bottom of the page.
- Support your local wildlife care group/organisation
- Make sure your bin is securely fastened, and cover your load on the way to the tip. Do not put rubbish in overflowing bins.
